Compliment your visit to Cortona and Tuscany with an educational and cultural cooking, food and wine experience that will last a lifetime!
Join native Cortonese Angela Lucani and Toscana Americana Workshops Producing Director Patrick Mahoney for a full or half-day of cooking in historic Cortona. We will go beyond the common notions of Italian cooking as spaghetti & meatballs and pizza and explore Tuscany’s rich culinary traditions from the wonderful flavors of the “poor kitchen” to modern and contemporary dishes…all using the finest local ingredients available such as meats and game, cheeses, olive oils, breads, wines and seasonal vegetables. Sessions are conducted in Italian with English translation.
Full-Day Event...
Full-Day cooking events may include shopping visits to local bakers, butchers, vegetable markets, grocers and wine shops followed by hands-on cooking in the kitchen and enjoying the dishes as we go! Along the way we will earn about selecting and preparing the foods used to create the dishes. Appetizers, pasta & sauces, main dishes, vegetables and desserts will be covered. Accompanying the event will be tastings of a variety of wines from Cortona, Tuscany and special wines. Menus will vary depending upon what is seasonal and available. Day sessions begin at 9:00a and end approximately 3:00p. Approximately six hours.
Price: €200,00 per person, minimum two people/ maximum 6 people.
Half-Day Event...
Half-Day cooking events include hands-on cooking in the kitchen and enjoying the dishes as we go! Along the way we will earn about selecting and preparing the foods used to create the dishes. Appetizers, pasta & sauces, main dishes, vegetables and desserts will be covered. Accompanying the event will be tastings of a variety of wines from Cortona, Tuscany and special wines. Menus will vary depending upon what is seasonal and available. Day sessions begin at 9:00a and end approximately 1:00p. Approximately four hours.
Price: €160,00 per person, minimum two people / maximum 6 people.
Price does not include transportation to or from the session location.
